Delete Your Oakward Account
Applies to the Oakward app for iOS and Android, published by Redmont Labs.
You do not need to contact us. Every Oakward account can be deleted from inside the app, by the parent who owns it, in under a minute. The steps are below. If you no longer have the app installed, we will do it for you — see If you can't reach the app.
Deleting from inside the app
On a parent device, open:
Parent Command → Family & Settings → Delete Account.
You will be asked to confirm twice, and the second confirmation spells out exactly what is about to be erased. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
If you only want to remove part of your data — a single hero, or one category such as quest history — use Clear & Reset Data on the same screen instead. Your account stays intact.
What is erased
Deleting your account permanently removes all of the following, for every member of your family, from every device:
- Your parent account and its sign-in credentials.
- Every hero: names, photographs, classes, levels, health, gold, and essence.
- Every quest, reward, potion, and item, along with the entire history of what was completed, approved, requested, or spent.
- Your family vault, prize wheel credits, streaks, and boss battle progress.
- Every photograph uploaded to Oakward, including family, hero, and reward pictures.
- Your family code, your Parent PIN, and every child PIN.
- Access for every enrolled device. Each one is signed out and can no longer reach any of the data above.
None of this is recoverable afterwards. We do not keep a backup copy on your behalf.
What is retained, and for how long
Two categories sit outside that button, because they are not held in your family's area of our systems. We would rather say so plainly than imply a deletion is more complete than it is.
- Crash diagnostics. Reports already sent to Firebase Crashlytics are held by Google and age out on Firebase's own retention schedule, currently 90 days. They contain no family content — only the technical detail described under Crash diagnostics in our privacy policy.
- Your subscription record. Your purchase history is a billing record held by RevenueCat and by Apple or Google. Deleting your Oakward account does not cancel an active subscription, and it does not delete the billing record, which those companies retain for their own legal and tax obligations. Cancel a subscription through your App Store or Google Play account settings.
If you want either of these removed as well, write to us and we will make the request on your behalf.
Cancel your subscription first. Deleting your Oakward account does not stop an active subscription from renewing. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings before you delete, or you will continue to be charged for an account that no longer exists.
If you can't reach the app
If you have uninstalled Oakward, lost access to your parent device, or cannot sign in, email us and we will delete the account for you:
Send the request from the email address the account was created with, and put “account deletion” in the subject line. If you write from a different address we will have to ask you to verify ownership before we can act, because otherwise anyone could delete anyone else's family.
We confirm receipt within two business days and complete the deletion within thirty days, sooner where the law requires it. You will get a confirmation once it is done.
Uninstalling is not deleting
Removing the app from one device does not delete anything. Your family may still be using Oakward on other devices, so the account and its data remain until a parent deletes them using one of the routes above.
For the full detail of what Oakward stores, where it goes, and who processes it, see our privacy policy. For anything else, our support page is the place to start.
